The prize, the photos, and the terms
18+. New Zealand. One entry per person. Terms apply.

How it works
Five steps, from your name to the table.
There is no feed of faces and no public profile. We look for someone who fits what you asked for. A real person reviews every application, and for the first people we speak for fifteen minutes before anyone is introduced. You get one introduction in front of you — a photo, a name, a few lines — not a pile of matches.

Create a private account
Tell us if you are a man or a woman, your age range, and an email. A New Zealand mobile is how we write on the phone. Upload a photo. A real person reviews every application. Other members cannot search for you.
- 02
Answer a few more questions
Where you are from, who you hope to meet, and a short note in your own words. We also ask what you eat and which nights you can do dinner, because the first date is in a restaurant. This is never published.
- 03
We find a match. A human connects you.
We look for people who fit. Early on, we also speak with you for fifteen minutes. Then a person writes the introduction: one photo, a first name, a neighbourhood, a few lines. Only you and they see it.
- 04
You say yes, or you pass
You have 72 hours. If you pass, or if the time runs out, the other person is not told. We send another introduction when we have someone who fits what you asked for.
- 05
If you both say yes, we book dinner
We hold a table for two at one of the restaurants below. We cover your meal and drinks.
What it costs
Joining is free. We cover your dinner.
There is no membership fee. You do not pay to join, to stay, or to be introduced. We do not sell your information. Partner restaurants never receive a list of members — only a booking for two people who already said yes.
When you both say yes, we cover your meal and drinks.
*Up to $150 including drinks.
Who it’s for
For singles who want a partner.
Mesa is for the Latin community in Auckland, including people living in New Zealand from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, and across Latin America — and of course for Kiwis who want a partner in that room.
Mesa is open to all ages, 18 and over. Whether you are just starting out or you have already lived a full life, you are welcome — as long as you are single and looking for a partner. This is a table for two people who have not met. A couple looking for a free dinner will not get a table.
If you are travelling in New Zealand, you are welcome to join. Casual dating is not. This room is for people who are dating with intent: a partner, not a passing night.
Moving here often means your friends and family are a long flight away. Sunday used to be a long lunch; here it can be you and the supermarket. Dating apps in Auckland are built around photos, and a lot of people on them are not looking for the same thing you are. You tell us who you hope to meet — someone from a similar background, someone who grew up here, or either — and we introduce from that.
If you grew up in New Zealand and live in Auckland, you can join. Same questions. Same standard. Treat someone badly after a dinner and you are removed.

Questions
Things people ask before they join.
How long until I get an introduction?+
We send one person at a time, when we have someone who fits what you asked for — not a pile of matches. There are already more than 500 people on the waitlist, and a person reads these before we write. That can take time. We will contact you when we have an introduction or a table, not before. If you need something faster, this is not the right place.
How is this different from Tinder?+
There is nothing to swipe. Other members cannot see you. You get one introduction: a photo, a first name, a neighbourhood, a short note. You have 72 hours to say yes or pass. If you pass, the other person is not told about it. If you both say yes, we cover your dinner.
Who pays for dinner?+
We cover your meal and drinks.* Joining Mesa is free.
Will anyone see my profile or photos?+
You upload a photo when you join. The person we introduce you to sees that one photo — and you see theirs. Other members cannot browse you. There is no public profile and no gallery.
Can I join if I’m not Latino or Latina?+
Yes. We ask who you hope to meet. We do not assume. Mesa is for singles who are dating with intent, not for something casual.
What if this week’s tables are full?+
We're sorry. We only cover fifty new dinners a week, and they go. Join anyway. You are on the waiting list for the next open table — we don't put you at the back, and we don't ask you to start again.
