How we handle your name and what you tell us.

Mesa does not publish profiles. Other members cannot browse you or search for you. You upload a photo when you join. The person we introduce you to sees that one photo — and you see theirs. There is no gallery. If you both say you want to meet, we book a table.

We keep what you told us, how you asked to be reached, and the introductions we have sent. We do not sell that. Partner restaurants never receive a list of members. They receive a booking for two people who already said yes.

Your account is an email address and a password. A New Zealand mobile is how we may write on the phone. There is no public profile.

You may pass on an introduction. The other person is not told about it. You have 72 hours to reply; if the time runs out, that is a quiet pass. If you treat someone badly after a dinner, you are removed from Mesa.

We only introduce people who live in or near Auckland. Joining is free. We cover your dinner — meal and drinks, up to $150 including drinks.

We run our own visitor stats with Umami, an open-source tool we host. It records which pages are opened, which links and buttons are used, the referring site, device type, and rough location from IP. A first-party visitor id stays in your browser so we can tell a return visit from a new one; it is not your name or email. We do not put what you type in forms (email, mobile, password, your note) into the stats. We do not send this to Google.

If we run ads on Facebook or Instagram, we load Meta’s pixel on public pages so we can show Mesa to people who visited and did not join. Meta receives that a page was opened — not your photo, password, or application. The pixel is off until we start ads.
